We meet at La Fenice opera house and our entertaining tour starts by following Giacomo Casanova's footsteps, taking you back to the Venice Carnival of the XVIII century. On this informative and fun walking tour, our masked guide will acquaint you with the story of Venice Carnival, then and now; learn about the history of masks, once used to hide the persons identity, and how they are made. Casanova was a great lover and adventurer, extremely extravagant, a freemason and a servant of the establishment: Born in Venice. He grew up in the area of San Samuele. Following your guide through the narrow Calle (alleys) passing his home and also the house of the famous poet Giorgio Baffo, who introduced the young Casanova to the worldly pleasures. Learn about the Ridotto, the first Casino in Venice often an easy meeting place for Casanova and the beloved Venetian Aristocracy. Hear fascinating stories about the Venetian Courtesans who also did their part to make the city as animated as possible. A completely different narrated walking tour filled with desire and passion, pleasure and entertainment. We end our tour with a hot cappuccino and a typical Venetian Carnival cake "Frittelle". What would Venice be without a bar hop, this amazing city is already outstanding with her magnificent palaces, churches and architectural monuments and yet we noticed that there was something missing!! A great alternative to the generally slow night life of Venice, and one of the best ways to meet fellow travellers from around the world. Our tour starts by the Ca' Rezzonico Museum just by the vaporetto stop at 5.30pm, you will meet our fun staff member who will be holding a sign saying "I'm doing it Venetian Style". Meandering through the Labyrinth of small alleyways and campi, we visit 4 local bars know as Bacari in the Venetian dialect. In each bar you will be offered an "Ombra", a glass of local wine, and at the final bar you will have the chance to try the very popular Venetian "SPRITZ". Dress code is casual unless it's a themed night when we will advise you to come in costume such as during the Carnival period. Our only regulation is that you are over 18years of age, and if its your birthday the tour is free, so please bring some ID. We highly recommend that you book in advance. We meet at La Fenice opera house and our entertaining tour starts by following Giacomo Casanova's footsteps, taking you back to the Venice Carnival of the XVIII century. On this informative and fun walking tour, our masked guide will acquaint you with the story of Venice Carnival, then and now; learn about the history of masks, once used to hide the persons identity, and how they are made. Casanova was a great lover and adventurer, extremely extravagant, a freemason and a servant of the establishment: Born in Venice. He grew up in the area of San Samuele. Following your guide through the narrow Calle (alleys) passing his home and also the house of the famous poet Giorgio Baffo, who introduced the young Casanova to the worldly pleasures. Learn about the Ridotto, the first Casino in Venice often an easy meeting place for Casanova and the beloved Venetian Aristocracy. Hear fascinating stories about the Venetian Courtesans who also did their part to make the city as animated as possible. A completely different narrated walking tour filled with desire and passion, pleasure and entertainment. We end our tour with a hot cappuccino and a typical Venetian Carnival cake "Frittelle". A great alternative to the generally slow night life of Venice, and one of the best ways to meet fellow travellers from around the world. Our tour starts by the Ca' Rezzonico Museum just by the vaporetto stop at 5.30pm, you will meet our fun staff member who will be holding a sign saying "I'm doing it Venetian Style". Meandering through the Labyrinth of small alleyways and campi, we visit 4 local bars know as Bacari in the Venetian dialect. In each bar you will be offered an "Ombra", a glass of local wine, and at the final bar you will have the chance to try the very popular Venetian "SPRITZ". Dress code is casual unless it's a themed night when we will advise you to come in costume such as during the Carnival period.
